The only lawn mower in the world with 200 colors

A quality paint is not just a part of Swardman design. Individualization through more than 200 shades of colors is also just a cherry on the cake. Our primary target is maximum protection of the machine and its resistance against climate and mechanical deprivation. That is why we opted for powder paints from a Swiss company, IGP.
When developing the Swardman cylinder mower, we were aware that our entire effort could be in danger if we neglect the final finish of the surface. That is why we contacted the prestigious Czech Technical University and we had the experts recommend us a technological procedure for surface treatment, and we have been using it since the beginning of our production. We begin with abrasive blasting; we continue with the primary spraying and everything is finalized with the powder coatings in a desired color shade.
The customers can now choose from the standard gray-silver color, or from the six extra colors for 99,- EUR. We would like to meet the expectations of any individuality, that is why our customers can choose from any shade of more than 200 colors from the RAL classic palette for 149,- EUR.
Own painting line
Thanks to the abrasive blasting of all parts prior to the painting itself, the paint sticks perfectly, even on the edges. Until 2016, we had had our components blasted and painted at contractor paint shops. Apart from demanding logistics and delays, another disadvantage was a lack of control over the technological process.
Therefore, since the end of 2016, we have been carrying out all surface treatments in our own production site and we have had everything under control. The blasting chamber and the paint shop are right next to each other, so that the components don’t have to come into contact with the outside environment. This helps to prevent unnecessary oxidation of surfaces between blasting and painting, because thanks to a perfect synchronization of both actions the delay is no longer than a few hours.
Why did we choose the powder coating supplier all the way from Switzerland? The question is answered in this video (in German), which introduces IGP Pulvertechnik AG, founded in 1968:
