Swardman – the safest cylinder mower

Why is the Swardman cylinder mower the safest?
Because it is modern and being constantly innovated. It was design to meet the current strict norms of the EU. Other manufacturers have constructed their mowers about 20 years ago and they do not exactly rush with innovations. This is reflected in a different safety level. Moreover, different norms apply for cylinder mower manufacturers than for rotary mower manufactures.
What makes the Swardman mowers so safe?
The most common injuries caused by a rotary mower are caused by running over a foot or a hand with the wheels – either yours or somebody else’s – and it gets close to the blade. This cannot happen with the Swardman cylinder mower. It is not even technically possible. Thanks to the grass bin being located in the front, as well as to the front and rear roller, it is far more difficult, or even technically impossible, to run over something or someone. Only if it is short and soft like grass…
The cylinder mower has more blades(5, 6 nebo 10), and the cylinder is visible (unlike the blade of a rotary mower), but thanks to the bin and the rollers, the cylinder mower is safer. The cutting system of a cylinder mower is visible from the top and the users act way more cautiously and with bigger respect than when they cannot see the danger.
The grass bin also functions as a safety cover against possible debris that may fly away. Thanks to the fact that the grass is not pushed into the bin with an air stream, but only with the kinetic energy from the cylinder, we can make a durable, impermeable and therefore safer grass bin. Thanks to the well-thought-out design of Swardman mower bin, the cutting system is maximally covered. The bin also prevents other objects from getting close to the cylinder (e.g. a rake leaning on a tree).
Be careful with children
It is a universal rule that a mower should only be operated by an adult. If your children relentlessly want to help you with lawn mowing, get them their own toy mower, ideally made of plastic, and design a safe area for them. The adults should always stay behind the mower, when manipulating it. That way they are not in danger. It is practically impossible for a user of a Swardman mower to injure themselves, if they are standing behind the mower and holding on to the steering levers with both hands.
